Who is D.I.V.? Read all About him in This Bio
The Foundation
Rapper/engineer
D.I.V., which is an acronym for Destiny In Vision, is greatness in the
making. Referred to by many as D.I., he possesses a unique style and
sound, a New York minute work ethic, and an approach that is unorthodox
in contrast to the current state of hip hop. Born in Yonkers, NY,
growing up throughout Westchester, and currently residing in Yonkers,
The Italian/Irish lyricist has a sharpened craft and unparalleled
outlook. His sound is powerful, smooth and deep while still being
delivered in a fresh format. D.I.V. got started in music as a child
playing his grandmother’s piano and singing before he could really put
his words together. He began rapping and recording at 14 on hand held
cassette decks as a hobby. From there on the music evolved along with
the content, sound and level of commitment. He became an engineer out of
need as opposed to want, and as a lyricist it compliments his craft
impeccably. He lists some eclectic influences as Bob Marley, Barry
White, Pink Floyd, Issac Hayes, Eric B & Rakim, The Lox, Nas, Tupac,
and Wu Tang.
The past two and half years have seen the evolvement of Joey C, producer extraordinaire and 17-year-old cousin of D.I.V. Joey C possesses a seemingly limitless ability to soothe the ear of the modern music fan. His hard drum knocks and signature walking high hats guide listener’s ears through a melodic sojourn. As evidenced by the production credits on Vision’s the Foundation, Joey C has re-formulated D.I.V.’s passion for music into gritty New York scores: “The fact that I could create with one of the people I love most, someone who I grew up with and consider a brother, and then turn around and make such amazing material, has led me to believe that this whole situation was God-sent. I believe we were meant to do this because it is so natural and always comes out top notch. Joey is an irreplaceable addition to my team, and he has a bright future ahead of him.”
D.I.V. and his brother Nuf Sed are architects of the duo So O.D. In D.I.V.’s own words,
“Me and Nuf started this group based on our work ethic and ability to
just knock tracks out in large quantities quickly. He is an incredible
artist, and has helped me develop so much musically. Personally, So O.D.
has given me a foundation to rebirth the artist D.I.V. So O.D. is an
expression we would say during recording, like, "Yo! Be easy, you’re
od'in on em." After a while we began saying, "It’s so o.d! on the
tracks.” Before you know it, we are ‘So O.D.’ We have a homegrown
natural chemistry, and paralleled work ethic. We are so different in
many ways, but it makes it that much iller when we collaborate, and our
reach is so much greater. Nuf Sed is yet another irreplaceable part of
the team and is talented beyond description.”
Giant
G Fam-Milli is D.I.V.'s Street Team consisting of D.I.V., Nuf Sed, D
Boi (a.k.a. The Bad Guy) and Sha Jiggs. The four artists formed the
group two years ago, and it has transformed into a movement grown in the
streets, powered by dreams, and solidified by reality. A Ha and Krayon
have also taken positions on the team, as has Ay Sincere, G Fam’s
digital media specialist. The groups concentrated online expansion
effort has paved new promotional avenues and created further investment
opportunities. For further information about how to become involved in
Street Team promotion and/or investment in the group, please send
